what is ephemeral void ?

Ephemeral Void is a gathering of thoughts from the Year 2 Sculpture and Combined Media students in Limerick School of Art and Design. Through a series of photography processes, both digital and analogue, we make sense of surface, form, shadow, texture. A personal shadow, a point of view at the forefront. For some: a detachment, and for others: a deep connection.

We use archival methods to preserve an ephemeral moment. Split seconds that can never be exactly replicated. A collection of scenes, spaces, objects, feelings. Individual artistic responses, each borne from the same beginnings, but diverging.

We are interested in the things that are there, and the things left unsaid. The space between what is seen and what is unseen. Formless aura. The balance between figurative and abstracted, light and dark, the lively and the quiet. The juxtaposition of subject and background. The liminal space between.

A leap into the unknown.
